Termite (NPMA - 33) Inspection

Termites can cause significant and often hidden structural damage to a home. The image above was taken during a home inspection in Chicago, IL, and shows active termite mud (sand) tubes along a structural wood member.

A Termite (NPMA-33) Inspection is a focused evaluation for wood-destroying insects and conditions that may contribute to their presence. This inspection is commonly required by lenders during real estate transactions and provides important insight into the condition of the home.

During the inspection, we look for visible evidence of wood-destroying insects, including termites, as well as signs of wood damage affecting accessible structural and non-structural components. We also identify conducive conditions—such as moisture issues, wood-to-soil contact, and other environmental factors that may increase the risk of infestation.

Findings are documented using the official NPMA-33 form and included with your inspection report. When the Termite (NPMA-33) Inspection is combined with a full home inspection, no additional fee is charged. A separate fee applies when this service is scheduled as a stand-alone inspection.

The goal of this inspection is to provide clear, straightforward documentation that supports informed decision-making without unnecessary alarm.

This inspection is limited to visible and accessible areas at the time of inspection.
